What a notary does for you in Chile
In Chile, the notary signs off the deed (escritura) prepared by the lawyers. The sale is then recorded at the Conservador de Bienes Raíces, which is when you become the owner.
Many notaries in Chile work in Spanish only. Ask if they work with a certified translator.
